Adella Miller

Adella was born to Joe and Antonia Rivera in the Nienda community on October 2, 1929. She became a Christian at an early age and loved Our Lord. She grew up in Hamlin where she worked at the Hamlin Memorial Hospital in the lab, nursery area and helped deliver several babies. Later she worked at Franks Department store and Levines Department Store in Abilene. She also worked as a waitress, catered home cooked meals and provided private homecare to many in Hamlin. She also enjoyed helping out Jo at Embreys Snack Bar. Adella never met a stranger, both young and old and she loved to talk on the phone, especially to her sister Helen, who recently passed away.
She was a very caring and loving mother, also a wonderful cook who enjoyed square dancing, listening to Lawrence Welks polka music and crocheting.
She is preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, Sammy and Fred Rivera, two sisters, Alice Williams and Helen Hewett 12152014 and her first husband Peter Camacho Sr. She is survived by her husband Harold L. Miller Sr., daughter and soninlaw, Paula and Tommy Joe Higgins, her eldest son and daughterinlaw, Peter and Debby Camacho and her devoted son and caregiver Harold Loyd Miller and Alton Dean Williams Jr. of Stamford who she helped raise and considered as a son after the early death of his mother, Alice.
Grandchildren are Becky Camacho Vosika of Kailua Hawaii, Christopher Camacho of San Francisco, Casey Camacho of San Antonio, Jennifer Higgins Peterson, Janell Higgins both of Abilene, Jeffrey Higgins of Hamlin. Great grandchildren are Natalie Sonberg and Vivian Vosika of Kailua Hawaii, and Bailey Beasley and Tyler Higgins of Abilene.
Nieces and Nephews include: Sylvia Sutherland, Mary Helen Reloba, Patricia Smith, Olga Cooper, Katina Biswell, Cindy Snider, Angelica Shipman, Toni Saizan, Joe Rivera, Alton Dean Williams, Sammy Rivera, Samuel Rivera along with many cousins.
Pall bearers are Charlie Bishop, James Edwards, Cary Jones, Dewayne Jones, Holman Jones, and Hollis Stephens. Special thanks to Hamlin EMS, ER Nurses, Dr. White and Hendrick Hospital ERNurses Wisteria Place Nursing Home for all your loving care.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be give to Local Meals on Wheels or a charity of your choice.
She will be remembered forever in our hearts.
