Born August 20, 1938, Benny was the son of Elias and Cecilia Ramirez Gutierrez. He married Guadalupe Armenta on June 23, 1958 in Anson, Texas. Benny was a lifelong resident of Hamlin, and a morning fixture at the Pied Piper Grocery. A farmer by trade, he would get bored if there was no work to be done. He was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church, and spent many years working for the Pied Piper Mills.
Benny is preceded in death by his wife, Guadalupe Armenta Gutierrez his brothers Socorro, Ted, Willie, Frank, and Lorenzo a greatgrandchild Monique Williams his father and motherinlaw Jessie and Nora Armenta nephew Jessie Armenta and his brotherinlaw E.J. Holden.
Benny is survived by his son, Bernardo Gutierrez, Jr., of Hamlin his daughter, Rose Mary Bonifacio Flores of Merkel his sister, Connie Martinez of Rotan his grandchildren, Manuel Brittny Sanchez of Ft. Worth, Leticia Flores of Merkel and Rosalinda Juan Cerna of Merkel and eight greatgrandchildren.
