Bobby was born February 17, 1943, to Lewis and Opal Irene Woolf in Hamlin, Texas. He spent the younger years of his life in the Celotex Community. He then was raised and attended school in Hamlin, and later at Lee Junior College in Baytown, Texas, for two years.
He married his wife of 45 years, Shirley Phelps Woolf, on April 28, 1970, in Abilene, Texas.
Bobby spent his adult life working the oil fields of west Texas and north Texas. He started his career working as a roustabout, and later worked in management and sales. He loved the oil industry and could remember and tell you almost anything you wanted to know. Bobby was well loved and respected by the employees and fellow company men of the customers he worked with. He was a man that would give anyone the shirt off his back or his last dollar if he saw someone in need. Bobby taught many of the younger generation the oilfield profession, and was a mentor to many.
