Born April 9, 1965, in Stamford, Texas, Clifford was the son of Leon Clarence and Lilly Mae Baitz Stegemoeller. He graduated from Rule High School in 1983, where he excelled in One Act Play. After graduation, he attended Texas Tech University in Lubbock. In 1996, he married Teresa Martinez in Arlington, Texas. The family moved from Arlington to Houston, before moving to Hamlin in 2000, where he worked as an accountant for Big Country Electric Coop in Roby. In his spare time, Clifford enjoyed woodworking, dove hunting, and attending his childrens sporting events. He is remembered as very witty. Clifford was a member of Our Savior Lutheran Church in Abilene.

Clifford is preceded in death by his wife, Teresa Martinez Stegemoeller.

Clifford is survived by his sons, Brannon Louis Stegemoeller and Bailey Clay Stegemoeller, both of Hamlin his parents, Leon and Lilly Baitz Stegemoeller of Sagerton four brothers and three sistersinlaw, Clayton Paula Stegemoeller of Sagerton, Calvin Cherri Stegemoeller of Duncan, Oklahoma, Clyde Stegemoeller of Sagerton, and Carl Beth Stegemoeller of Hobbs, New Mexico and eight nieces and nephews.
