David Nicholas Smith, 26, passed away on Friday, July 10, 2015. Services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, July 18, 2015, at the First Baptist Church, Hamlin, Texas. Visitation will be held at the church at 1:00 p.m. prior to the service. Burial will be in Hamlin Memorial Cemetery, directed by Adams-Foster-Ray Funeral Home.
Born on November 5, 1988, David was the son of Devalla Smith and Allen Wayne White. He attended Hamlin schools his entire life and graduated from Hamlin High School in 2007. After graduation, David worked at Pied Piper Mills in Hamlin for three and a half years and was later employed by Coca-Cola Industries in Abilene as a forklift driver.
David enjoyed music, basketball, football, and spending time with his family. He was very outgoing, friendly, and always had a smile on his face.
David is preceded in death by his grandparents, Willie J and Willie May Smith; his great-aunt/grandmother, Erma D. Garner; grandfather, Roy Fly; aunt, Ardelia; uncles, Roy and Willie J; and brother and special friend, Nathan Moss, Jr.
David leaves to cherish his memory his beloved mother, Devalla Smith of Hamlin; his father, Allen Wayne White; brother, Justin White of Abilene; four sisters, Shawna White of Dallas, Amber of Kentucky, and Rebecca and Allison of Abilene; grandmother, Jessie Lee Culpepper of Abilene; three uncles, Garny (Pauline) Smith of Hamlin, Charlie J (Nancy) of Tennessee, and James Earl Smith of Big Spring; special aunt, Addie Conner of Abilene; Bobbie Ford of Slaton; his namesake Uncle David Brown (Shirley) of Colorado; numerous cousins, aunts, uncles, friends, and classmates.
