Born April 8, 1953, in Hamlin, Texas, Debra was the daughter of James William and Rebecca Ann Jones Brown. She grew up in Hamlin, graduating from Hamlin High School in the class of 1971, before attending HardinSimmons University in Abilene, where she earned a Bachelor of the Arts degree in 1975. Upon graduating, she went to work for STE Printers in Abilene as a graphic artist, a position she maintained through many company ownership and name changes. Debra was a talented artist, who could work magic with almost any medium imaginable. She also enjoyed woodwork, photography, and keeping up with the latest technology. Debra joined the Queen Esther Chapter of the Eastern Star on June 17, 1979, and remained a member for the rest of her life, serving as Worthy Matron twice, in 2001 and 2008. Although she was a lifelong member of the First Baptist Church of Hamlin, she attended Pioneer Drive Baptist Church while she lived in Abilene.
Debra is preceded in death by her father, James William Brown her paternal grandparents, Roy and Ruby Brown and her maternal grandparents, Tom and Dessie Jones.
She is survived by her mother, Rebecca Brown, of Abilene two brothers, Dan Brown and wife, Elaine, of McCamey, and Mike Brown and wife, George Anne, of Snyder and numerous nieces, nephews, greatnieces, greatnephews, cousins, and beloved friends.
