Earl Pritchard, 83, of Hamlin passed away August 9, 2018 in Hamlin. Funeral services will be held at 2pm, Saturday, August 11, 2018 at the North Central Baptist Church in Hamlin. Burial will follow in Hamlin Memorial Cemetery.
Earl was born June 11, 1935 in Hamlin, TX to Tom Franklin and Lillie Mae (Helms) Pritchard. He married Dorothy Faye Altum on June 11, 1994. Earl was a mechanic by trade and he really enjoyed his work. He was a generous soul that would do anything in his power to help someone in need. Often times, Earl, would work on the vehicles of the elderly or less fortunate and wouldn't charge for his services. He would simply do it because he knew they needed assistance and he could provide that help. Earl was not only good mechanic he was also a great dancer. He and Dorothy would often go out dancing and have a great time cutting a rug. Earl had an area "out back" that contained almost anything a person could ever need. He had a famous expression; "Don't buy that, I've got one out back".
Earl was preceded in death by his first wife, Charlotte; his parents, Tom and Lillie Pritchard; brothers Jerry and Leroy Pritchard; his nephew, Roy Pritchard and two great-grandchildren; Layciee LaRai Thomas and Blake Ann Long.
Earl is survived by his wife Dorothy Pritchard; daughters, Sherrie Pritchard Maxwell and Mary Ann Pritchard; his brother, Coye Pritchard; his sister, Joy Helm and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and newphews.
