Felipa Reyes

Felipa Reyes, devoted wife, and mother went to be with our Lord and Savior at the age of 87 on October 21st, 2022. She succumbed to an infection that could not be cured.

She was born in Jimenez, Coahila. She graduated from the Instituto Federal de Capacitacion del Magisteria on August 24th, 1957. She taught for 12 years in Mexico before she married our father (Maximiliano Reyes on March 3, 1963).

She worked for over 20 years at the Hamlin Memorial Hospital. She loved the patients dearly, as well as those she worked with. She loved cooking. She always cooked our favorite foods when we would drop in and visit. As well as cooking for anyone that wanted a meal. Mom loved to feed others.

We will love her and cherish her the rest of our lives. She left behind her daughters, Catalina Kerr of San Antonio, Texas; Rita Pavlik of San Antonio, Texas; Rosantina Goforth of Wagoner, Oklahoma; Max Reyes of Abilene, Texas; and Mauricio Reyes of Beratzhausen, Germany.

As a grandmother she left behind fifteen grandchildren - Sara Ann, Andrea, Valerie, and Dakota; Martin and Nicolas; Christine, Justin, and Ethan; Josh, Nathan, Steven, and Stephanie; Emily and Victoria; and three great grandchildren - Heliana, Makayla and Piper.

She will be buried next to her husband, Maximiliano Reyes, who passed away in 2011. Graveside services will be 11:00am at El Ranchito Cemetery on Saturday, October 29, 2022. The pallbearers will be: Phillip Kerr (husband of Catalina), Curtis Goforth (husband of Rosantina), George Pavlik (husband of Rita), Martin Kerr (son of Phillip and Catalina), Jose "Chema" Reyes (brother of Maximiliano Reyes), Ernesto Galindo (Nephew). Immediately after the burial, a luncheon will be held to celebrate her life. It will be catered for family and friends in remembrance of her beautiful and fulfilling life.
