Grable Martinez

Grable Martinez, 85, passed away July 12, 2020.  Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Thursday, July 16, 2020, at the Hamlin Foursquare Gospel Church in Hamlin. Burial will be in the Belvieu Cemetery, Rotan, Texas, directed by Adams-Foster-Ray Funeral Home.

Grable Martinez was born on July 12, 1935 and went to be with her Lord Jesus Christ on July 12, 2020 at the age of 85.   Grable was born in Bartlett, Texas to Paul and Juanita Trejo and was the oldest of 6 siblings. The family moved to Royston in 1945. She met Cruz Martinez Sr. in Rotan where they were married on May 23, 1953, they went on to have 43 years of marriage and eight children.

Grable’s hobbies included sewing, shopping, crafting, her pets, and the Bible app. She loved watching the Dallas Cowboys, novellas, and the Kardashians as well as decorating her home and mowing her lawn. Most important to her were her grandchildren and serving her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

Surviving children include five daughters, Lydia (Benjamin) Torres of Abilene, Texas, Rosemary (Ernesto) Carreon of Bartlesville, Oklahoma, Linda Martinez of Rotan, Texas, Vicky Martinez of Rotan, Texas, and Yolanda (Michael) of Lakewood, Colorado.

Grable was blessed with 16 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren, And one great-great grandchild.

Grable is preceded in death by her husband Cruz, her children Cruz Martinez Jr, Donna Martinez, and Raul Martinez.
