It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Guy Lewis Weaver on December 17, 2024, at the age of 90. Born on October 6, 1934, in Hamlin, Texas, Guy was the beloved son of Noel and Mildred Weaver.
Guy graduated from Texas Tech University with a bachelor's degree in Agricultural Education and briefly taught Ag before dedicating his career to the agricultural field. He worked in Hamlin for 20 years before relocating to Seminole, TX, where he continued his work at the same company until his retirement in 2012. After retiring, Guy moved to Arlington, TX, where he stayed actively involved in his church and volunteered with Mission Arlington.
A devoted family man, Guy is survived by his wife, Jan Weaver, to whom he was married for 54 years; his son, Greg Weaver; Greg’s wife, Ashley; and their daughter, Rachel, all of Frisco, TX; as well as Guy’s daughter, Teri Weaver Surovik, and her husband, Nelson, of Escondido, CA; cousins LaGena Weaver of Sweetwater, TX, and Davis Weaver of Hamlin, TX; nephew Chad Weaver of Lubbock, TX; and niece Linda Weaver Gleason of Arlington, TX. He was preceded in death by his parents, Noel and Mildred, and his brother, Dave.
Guy enjoyed fishing, playing games, and was a passionate fan of the Texas Tech Red Raiders and the Dallas Cowboys. He spent many joyful days playing 42 with his church group and friends. He will be remembered for his generosity, love for Christ, and unwavering dedication to his family, faith, and community.
