Jack W. Breedlove passed away peacefully on February 11, 2025. Jack was born on July 18, 1944 in his hometown of Hamlin, TX, to the parents of Jack and L.E. Breedlove. He spent his formative years in Hamlin and was a 1962 graduate of Oscar De Priest School, where he was honored with the ranking of valedictorian of his senior class. Jack loved his childhood in Hamlin and often reminisced of precious memories he had with his family and friends there.
Jack was a conversationalist and loved being amongst people. He was often seen speaking with someone, whether he knew them or not. He easily engaged in conversation with all walks of life and met all with the same charisma. He loved spending time with family and friends, often sharing stories, playing games, or offering a helping hand. He always offered his knowledge and gave advice, guidance, and support, no matter what challenges they faced.
Jack found joy in music and travel alike. His favorite music was the old rhythm & blues. He enjoyed traveling and admiring the charm of small towns. He loved watching old western movies and enjoyed all sports, no matter what it was. Jack was humorous and had a young-at-heart quality. He was witty and loved making others laugh through jokes and storytelling. He loved food and was an excellent cook. Most importantly, he believed in the word of God.
Jack is survived by his loving wife, Helen, his children, Dewayne, Jacqueline, Danieal, Demetrius and Danita, and 9 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren and his cousins, David and Shirley Brown, Owyanzee Mason, Willie Johnson, and a host of family and friends. His memory will be cherished and he will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
