James Crowley

Born May 31, 1939, in Houston, Texas, James was the son of Clifton and Ossie Bennett Crowley. His family moved to Hamlin when he was four years old, and graduated from Hamlin High School in 1957. He attended McMurray University in Abilene, Texas. On November 2, 1979, he married Vickie Lynn West in Hamlin, Texas. James worked for several years as the administrator of the nursing home in Hamlin. In his spare time, he enjoyed gambling, playing dominoes on his computer, gardening, and hunting. He was a member of the Hamlin Lions Club, and was an active supporter of the Hamlin Little League for several years. James was a member of the United Methodist Church, but attended North Central Baptist Church.
James is preceded in death by his mother, Ossie Crowley, and his son, Russell Crowley.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 34 years, Vickie Crowley one daughter, Jamie Green and husband, Dwayne, of Guthrie his father, Clifton Crowley one brother, Jerry Crowley and wife, Cherry, of Mesquite one sister in law, Violet Pedersen and fianc, Charles Wade his dogs, Honey, Angel, and many others and many beloved friends.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to Rescue the Animals, 5933 S 1st St. Abilene, TX 79605.
