Jessie Lee Ledesma Jr, 72, passed away Wednesday, January 22, 2020. Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Friday, January 24, 2020, at the Hamlin Church of the Nazarene. Burial will be in Hamlin Memorial Cemetery, directed by Adams-Foster-Ray Funeral Home.

Born March 8, 1947 in Aspermont, Jessie was the son of Jessie Lee and Seferina (Pena) Ledesma.  He graduated from Aspermont and attended Cisco College for two years. Jessie married Patsy Sauls on July 12, 1997 in Hamlin. He was a long-time welder and worked in oilfields around Aspermont and Hamlin until he retired in 2000. Jessie was a member of the Central Baptist Church in Hamlin. He loved rodeo. Jessie rode bulls for many years and he never missed the Texas Cowboy Reunion in Stamford. Yes, folks that means 72 years of attendance! He enjoyed metal art work and went to many craft shows. Jessie painted the run through signs for the Hamlin Piper’s football team for many years and painted the cheerleader’s megaphones.

Jessie is preceded in death by his parents; one daughter, Charissa Villanueva; and one sister, Billie Ann Benavides.

Survivors include his wife, Pasty (Sauls) Ledesma; three sons, Don Ledesma, Cody Ledesma and Lance George; one daughter, Michael Ledesma; two brothers, Johnny Ledesma and Frank Ledesma;  nine grandchildren; several great grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild.
