Josephine Guerra

Hamlin Josephine Martinez Guerra, 81, passed away Wednesday, November 16, 2011, in Hamlin. Funeral service will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday, November 19, 2011, at the Holy Trinity Catholic Church. Burial will be in Hamlin Memorial Cemetery, ed by AdamsFosterRay Funeral Home.

Born January 5, 1930, in Premont, Josephine was a daughter of the late Jesus and Thomasa Calsada Martinez. She married Ponciano Guerra December 24, 1947, in Brownsville. They moved to Hamlin in 1958. Josephine worked as a nurses aid at the Holiday Lodge Nursing Home. She enjoyed crocheting, quilting, cooking for her family and going fishing.
Josephine was a member of the Holy Trinity Catholic Church.

Josephine is preceded in death by her parents, one son Ponciano Guerra, Jr., and four sisters Paulita, Susie, Casilda, and Candida.

Survivors include her husband, Poinciana quotChanoquot Guerra two sons, Oscar Guerra and Frank Guerra one sister Juanita Ortega and husband, Encarnacion five grandchildren five greatgrandchildren and one greatgreatgrandchild.
