Kenneth Burt Prewit, of Hamlin Texas was born June 9, 1942 in Bay City, Texas. He was one of three children born to L.E. (Gene) and Anne Prewit. Ken passed away peacefully on Saturday morning, December 3, 2022 in Rotan. A graveside service will be 3:00 pm Tuesday, December 6, 2022 in Hamlin Memorial Cemetery. There will be a family visitation prior to the service from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm Tuesday, December 6, 2022 at the Adams-Foster-Ray Funeral Home in Hamlin, Texas.
Ken was a graduate of the Hamlin High School class of 1960. He continued his education at Baylor University where he played football. He later married Rebecca Ann Ferguson on January 25, 1963 in Hamlin. Together, they had two daughters, Katherine Leanne and Paula Kay. They made Hamlin their home.
Ken has worked in many different ventures throughout his life, meeting people who are now life-long friends. He was an animal lover and a nature lover. He also loved everyone gathering for Labor Day dove hunts and watching track and field.
He is proceeded in death by his wife, Rebecca Ann Prewit in 2005; his parents; and one brother, Dee Prewit.
He is survived by his daughters, Kathy Conklin and her husband David of Lubbock and Paula Rodgers and her husband Gerald of Hamlin; his grandchildren, who knew him as Poppa and he adored, Jessica Hendricks and husband Cory of Rio Rancho, NM, Jennifer Beall and husband Jud of Abilene, Bryan Reaves and wife Micah of Lubbock, Jaylen Burtch and husband Jacob of San Angelo, Lacey Arismendez and husband Ethan of Lubbock, Morgan Meek and husband Landon of San Angelo, Andrea Conklin and Bailey Conklin of Lubbock, and Mallory Meredith and husband Matt of Tyler, and one brother Charles Prewit and his wife Monica of Avoca, Texas; he was “Great Poppa” to these GREAT grandchildren, Cate and Patrick Hendricks, Hannah and Caroline Poehls, Graham and Hudson Reaves, Ella and Collins Burtch, Elena and Vincent Arismendez, Sutton and Emerson Meek, Makenna and Miles Meredith, and Grayson and Maryn Beall.
