Kent Calhoun

Born December 23, 1939, in Carter County, Oklahoma, Kent was the son of Omer and Stella Jackson Calhoun. He graduated from Fox High School in Oklahoma, and received his Bachelors Degree in Education from East Central College in Ada, Oklahoma. On January 27, 1984, he married the love of his life, Margaret Maberry, in Hamlin, Texas. He managed Chaparral Tool and Supply in Aspermont for several years, and also worked in construction. In his spare time, he enjoyed fishing, traveling in the RV, and reading. A family man, Kent enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren. Kent is remembered as a quiet man with a great sense of humor.

Kent is preceded in death by his parents, Omer and Stella Calhoun.

He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Margaret Calhoun sons, Mitch Calhoun of Snyder, Jeff Calhoun and wife Dolores of Snyder, Wood Smith of Abilene, and Rod Smith and wife Susie of Lubbock daughter, Sally Best and husband Shawn of Lubbock grandchildren, Kolby and Kade Calhoun of Edmond, Oklahoma, Bobby Salazar of Snyder, Celeste Smith and Tamara Murdoch of Abilene, Derick Smith and wife Erin of Lubbock, Kristen and Meredith Smith of Lubbock, and Casey, Spencer, and Maggie Best of Lubbock and greatgrandchildren Dominic, Tristan, and Abigail.
