Larry Rimmer

Larry Claude Rimmer, age 84, left this life on December 12, 2020 in Abilene. He was born March 7, 1936 in Fisher County, Hamlin, Texas to Jo Mildred May and Lawrence D. Rimmer. Viewing and visitation will be Thursday, December 17, 2020 at Adams-Foster-Ray Funeral Home from 11:30 AM – 1:30 PM. Friends and family will gather to celebrate his life on December 17, 2020 at 2:00 PM with a graveside service and burial at Afton Cemetery in Fisher County.

Larry attended Hamlin Public Schools and Odessa Junior College. He was a Veteran serving his country in the U.S. Navy from October 5, 1953 until February 19, 1957. In 1958, he married the love of  his life, Barbara Ann Carman, in Odessa. Larry worked for Exxon Oil Company retiring in 1991.

Larry was involved as a committee chairman for the Cub Scouts and served as scout master for Boy Scout Troop 121. He was a deacon at the Hamlin Church of Christ.

Larry is preceded in death by his parents and one grandson. Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Barbara; one daughter, Brenda Owen; three sons, David Rimmer, Vince (Kim) Rimmer, and Jeff Rimmer; nine grandchildren, and ten great grandchildren.
