Lucille Connally

Lucille was the daughter of W.E. and Maggie Elizabeth (Bond) Newsom. After graduating from Hamlin High School, she graduated from McMurry College in Abilene with a Bachelor of Science Degree. She married Charles E. Connally on August 10, 1940, in Hamlin. Lucille worked as a first grade teacher in Hamlin for seventeen years. She was a charter member of the Hamlin Pink Ladies, and delivered meals with the Meals on Wheels program for many years. A faithful Christian, Lucille was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Hamlin, where she served on the board. Lucille also helped many ladies in the community, driving them around town to complete their errands. She had a strong family bond, and loved spending time with her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.
Lucille is preceded in death by her husband, Charles E. Connally; one daughter, Barbara Connally; one granddaughter, Jamie Ann Wood; and one grandson, Matt Connally.
She is survived by two sons, Eddie Connally and wife, Libby, of Abilene, and Gary Connally and wife, Jimmie, of Hamlin; eight grandchildren, Chuck Connally and wife, Paula, Chris Connally and wife, Kristy, Jerry Don Woods and wife, Jamie, Jimmy Charles Woods and wife, Lynnette, Mark Connally and wife, Lindi, Shelly Chorn and husband, Chris, Brandi Molinar and husband, Nate, and Carlie Hernandez and husband, Brian; sixteen great-grandchildren, Jody, Jennifer, Jordan, Jared, Kent, Tamara, Stephanie, Brittany, Katy, Matt, Abigail, Luke, Emily, Lou Lou, Ellie, and Maddox; and three great-grandchilren, Hannah, Brylea, and McKenna
