Mabel Irene Duncan, 94, passed away Thursday, June 7, 2012, in Granbury. Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, June 9, 2012, at the First Baptist Church with visitation before the service at 1:00 p.m. Burial will be in Hamlin Memorial Cemetery, ed by AdamsFosterRay Funeral Home.
Mabel was born to Edgar W. and Leila York Moore. She married Edgar E. Duncan December 25, 1937 in Floydada and they moved to Hamlin in 1946, where he owned and operated the Piggly Wiggly Grocery Store. Mabel enjoyed traveling with her husband, sewing, cooking and being a homemaker for her family. She was a member of the First Baptist Church where she was a Sunday School teacher for many years and a leader in the Women39s Missionary Union. Mabel is preceded in death by her parents, husband and brother J.D. Moore.
Mabel is survived by two sons and daughtersinlaw, Jerry and Deenie Duncan of Burleson and Joey and Naomi Duncan of Bridgeport one daughter, Connie Jo Duncan of Granbury five grandchildren and spouses, Michelle and Michael Levick, Waylon and Angie Roberson, Chad and Jennifer Duncan, Julie and Adam Young, and Paul and Angela Duncan and eight greatgrandchildren, Alex Roberson, Tate Roberson, Duncan Roberson, Joley Young, Emery Young, Abigail Duncan, Hannah Duncan and Sarah Duncan.
