Born March 27, 1939, in Stamford, Texas, Mac was the son of Burnia Byron and Geneva Joe Hunter Reid. He graduated from Texas Tech University with a degree in Agriculture. On September 2, 1961, he married the love of his life, Anita Thomas, in Lubbock. In 1964, the couple moved to Hamlin, where Mac worked as a farmer. In his spare time, he enjoyed fishing, photography, gardening, and raising livestock. He was a Weather Observer for the NOAA for over 25 years, and filmed Hamlin High School Football Games for over 20 years. Mac was a member of the First Baptist Church, where he served as a Deacon, and a member of the Board of Directors of the Jones County Bureau.
Mac was preceded in death by his parents, Burnia and Geneva Reid.
He is survived by his wife of fiftytwo years and ten months, Anita Reid, of Hamlin his son, Kevin Reid, of Hamlin his daughter, Rami Sensat, and husband, Andy, of Austin and his grandson, Wilson Sensat, of Austin.
