Manuela Solis

August 1, 1922 — July 17, 2016

Born August 1, 1922, in Mission, Texas, Manuela was the daughter of Marcelo and Sedia (Falcon) Garza. In 1941, she married the love of her life, Placido Solis, in Stamford. A homemaker, she devoted her life to raising her children and caring for her husband. In her spare time, she enjoyed gardening and shopping. Manuela was a member of the Iglesia Bautista Hispana in Hamlin.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Placido Solis; her daughters, Yolanda Flores and Hortensia Beagles; her parents, Marcelo and Sedia Garza; and her brothers Raymond and Marcelo Garza.
Manuela is survived by three sons, David Solis (LaVerne) of Hodges, Jerry Solis, and Raul Solis (Pat) of Weatherford; four daughters, Mary Jones of Georgia, Jan Steed of Missouri, Gloria Mendoza of Hamlin, and Rosa Hobson of Abilene; six brothers; four sisters; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
