Marie Chavez

On February 8, 2019 at 8 a.m. the gates of heaven opened up to welcome the newest angel.
Marie Diane Chavez, the daughter of Maria Villanueva Chavez and Luciano Chavez Sr. was born August 26, 1991 in Abilene, TX. She attended Hamlin ISD schools from K-12 where she graduated. She then went on to Neece's College of Cosmetology in Abilene where she graduated and received her cosmetology license. Marie was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church where she received all of her sacraments.

She met Rudy Vera Jr. on Myspace in 2010 and moved in together in 2015. After numerous doctors telling her she couldn't have kids she was blessed with her miracle baby on May 26, 2015 Jaxon Luke Vera. He was her pride and joy and all the fighting she did was for him. Her entire world revolved around her baby including her fight against cancer. Her hobbies included dancing, listening to music, watching tv, having BBQ's and her favorite of all was taking naps. During her last week of life she was able to enjoy all of her favorite foods: BBQ, menudo and barbacoa.

Marie was preceded in death by both maternal and paternal grandparents, Gloria Munoz, Jesus Villanueva, Florentino Chavez, Silvano Chavez, Jose Villanueva Sr, David Villanueva, Devin Villanueva, and Audelia Villanueva.

Survivors include her parents Maria Villanueva Chavez of Hamlin and Luciano Chavez Sr. of Hamlin; her fiancé, Rudy Vera Jr. of Hamlin; and one son, Jaxon Luke Vera and step-son, Kadaniel Vera, her twin sister, Michelle Chavez of Hamlin; two brothers, Luciano Jr. and wife, Victoria of Hamlin and Danny of Hamlin; nieces and nephews; Miss Abigail Chavez of Hamlin, Marcus, Sabrina, Nova Chavez of Stamford, Angel, Ray and Elijah De La Rosa of Wichita Falls, Katie and Aiden Chavez of Hamlin.

In lieu of flowers the family request that donations be made in Marie's name to Hendrick Hospice Care of Abilene, Cook Children's Medical Center of Ft. Worth or Ronald McDonald House of Ft. Worth.
