Marie Hale

August 16, 1925 — April 3, 2016

Born August 16, 1925, on the family ranch in Stonewall County, Marie was the daughter of Jimmy and Leenora "Johnnie" (Jones) Sedberry. She graduated from Flattop School in 1944, and attended college at Abilene Christian College. Marie married the love of her life, Leroy Hale, on July 8, 1947, in Haskell. After raising her daughters, she went to work in the kitchen at the Nursing Home, and cared for several elderly members of the community. Marie was always on the go, spending time with her family at car races and other events. In her spare time, she enjoyed working on puzzle books. She made a mean chicken enchilada, and was a member of the First Baptist Church of Hamlin.
Marie is preceded in death by her husband, Leroy Hale; her parents, Jimmy and Johnnie Sedberry; her brother, James Sedberry; and her great-granddaughter, Sarah Jones.
She is survived by two daughters, Ann Daley and her husband, Ed, of Abilene and Linda Jones and her husband, Gerald, of Anson; Six grandchildren, Rhonda Abbott, Glenn Jones, Stephen Jones, Shane Priddy, Casey Jones, and Patrick Daley; thirteen great-grandchildren, Cutter, Bailee, Kenzie, Kody, Gaige, Harley, Bella, McKinzie, Hayden, Ian, Ty, Andrew, and Dustin; one great-great-granddaughter, Gracie; and several nieces and nephews.
