Mario Flores, 77, of Hamlin passed away Tuesday, August 15, 2017, at his home. A funeral mass will be held at 11am, Saturday, August 19, 2017, at the Holy Trinity Catholic Church, in Hamlin. Burial will follow in Hamlin Memorial Cemetery. A visitation and rosary service is scheduled for 6pm, Friday, August 18, 2017, at Adams-Foster-Ray Funeral Home, with the rosary service starting at 7pm.
Mario Zamarripa Flores was born in Cuidad Melchor Muzquiz Coahuilla, Mexico, on August 5, 1940, to his parents, Raul Flores Ibarra and Socorro Zamarripa. Mario was a member of the Holy Trinity Catholic Church of Hamlin. He met the love of his life, his partner, Minnie Flores in 1979 and was with her until her death in 1999. Mario worked for Cecil Sellers' cattle company about 20 years where he forged both a professional and personal friendship with the family. Mario was an avid reader, preferring medical books to anything else. He was also an avid sports fan, loving boxing and baseball. Mario loved getting together with his friends and family and spending time with them. He was also very active in his church home, attending Holy Trinity Catholic Church regularly. Mario was a very loving person and he will be dearly missed by all those who knew him and loved him.
Mario is proceded in death by his parents, Raul and Socorro Flores; his loving partner, Minnie Flores; his brother, Helberto Flores; two sons, Robert Quientanilla, Jr. and Larry Quientanilla and a grandson, Jessie Armenta.
Mario is survived by his children, Porfirio Quientanilla and wife Juana, of Snyder, Elva Gomez and husband Fidel of Abilene, Alice Luna and Anson of Snyder, Carmen Rivera of Snyder; sisters, Magdalena Flores, Maria Flores, and Rosa Flores of Mexico; brother, Raul Flores of Mexico; 16 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.
