Martha Spalding

HAMLIN MARTHA LEE LARKIN SPALDING, 95, passed away Wednesday December 18, 2013, at her residence. Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Friday, December 20, 2013, at the First United Methodist Church with burial in Hamlin Memorial Cemetery. ation will be 5:00 6:00 p.m. Thursday at AdamsFosterRay Funeral Home. Martha was born August 23, 1918, to Nancy Ellen Barnett and Author Martin Cooper Larkin in Stillwater, Texas. She married Robert Glen Spalding in Eastland County on March 27, 1937 and they moved to Hamlin in 1948. Martha enjoyed embroidering, coloring, and putting puzzles together. She was known for not ever complaining about anything and she loved kids. Kids were her life and she always felt that children could do no wrong. Martha attended the New Life Fellowship Church of God. She is preceded in death by her husband, parents, two sons Authur Jim A.J. Spalding and Charles Earl Spalding, one grandson Authur Jim Spalding, Jr., six sisters and two brothers.

Martha is survived by three sons and daughtersinlaw, Robert and Clara Spalding of Hamlin, Roy Glen and Shelia Spalding of Hamlin, and Gerald Wayne and Johnnie Spalding of Stamford two daughters and sonsinlaw, Valvoria Val and Robert Mitschke of Sagerton and Betty and Billy Weaver of Hamlin twentytwo grandchildren fortyseven greatgrandchildren numerous greatgreatgrandchildren a brother and sisterinlaw, Ollie Lee and Minnie Larkin of Rising Star and a very special and loving caretaker, Mary Livingston.
