Michael Harper

Michael Harper, 52, passed away Tuesday, April 18, 2017, in Abilene. Funeral services are scheduled for 11:00am, Saturday, April 22, 2017, at the Hamlin Church of the Nazarene. Burial will follow in Hamlin Memorial Cemetery. Visitation is set for Friday, April 21, 2017, at Adams-Foster-Ray Funeral Home, from 6:00pm until 8:00pm.
Michael Kite Harper was born March 5, 1965 in Hamlin, TX to Georgia Elizabeth (Raifsnider) and Clarence Kite Harper. Mike graduated of Hamlin High School. He spent many years working for United States Gypsum. Mike was a member of the Christian Motorcycle Association, where he was an evangelist to many people. He married Tina Kay Wicker on March 2, 2002, at the Hamiln Church of the Nazarene; where they were members. Mike had a passion for motorcycles; he was a skilled carpenter, avid fisherman and a devoted junker. He was also a loyal Dallas Cowboys fan. He enjoyed many things, but above all, he loved spending time with his family. Mike was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, son, and friend. He will be dearly missed by all those who knew him and loved him.
Mike was preceded death his father, Clarence Kite Harper; brother, Patrick Ira Harper; brother-in-law, Robert Daily Ponder; sister-in-law, Suzanne Wicker; and mother-in-law, Billie Merle Wicker.
Mike is survived by his loving wife, Tina Kay Harper; his mother, Georgia Elizabeth Harper; two sons, Matthew Kite Harper and wife Hayley and Troy Lee Harper; sister, Ivie Lynn Wade and husband Dickie Earl; grandchildren, Matley Grace Harper, Georgia Faye Harper, Levi Joel Harper; nieces, Becky Ponder, Shelby Joiner, Rhonda Joiner, Brooke Ponder, Abby Cooper; nephews, Phillip Ponder, Kyle Ponder and wife Lindsey, Joshua Joiner, Wesley Cooper; great-nephew, Daily Ponder, and many funny, supportive, great cousins.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations be made to Jones County Relay for Life, in Mike's honor.
