Michael Scott Hughes, 51, was born on August 4, 1970, in Abilene, Texas, to James Hughes and Jeanette Feagan. He attended schools at Abilene Wylie, Anson, and Hamlin. Scott graduated from Hamlin High School in 1989. Scott spent most of his life hauling products all over the United States, but his passion was hauling cattle. In his younger days, he spent many nights being an amazing rodeo clown. He was a natural at making friends everywhere he went. Whether a rodeo, sale barn, restaurant, or truck stop, he was a friend to all. He had many stories to tell about his life experiences and was known to embellish many of them (here and there). In 2009, Scott married the love of his life, Nikki McCoy on June 20. They spent thirteen wonderful years raising four amazing children who were the joy of their lives. In the last five years, he became Pop to five wonderful grandkids who he adored endlessly.
Scott is preceded in death by his grandparents; stepfather, Steve Feagan; his father-in-law, Larry McCoy; and one aunt and uncle.
Survivors include his beautiful wife Nikki; daughter Kalicia (Tyler ); three sons, Cole (Manervia), Devin and Tully; five grandchildren, Oaklyn, Cash, Amerie, Minnie, and Avah; his parents, James Hughes and Jeanette Feagan; one sister, Shari Munden; two brothers, Greg (Angie) Hughes and Danny (April) Feagan; one aunt, Pam (Jay) Johnson; his mother-in-law, Sandra McCoy; numerous nieces, nephews and three sisters-in-law and their spouses; and a host of extend family and friends.
