Born August 13, 1929, in Stamford, Texas, Naomi was the daughter of Jess and Naomi Proctor Young. She was raised in Hamlin, Texas, where she graduated from Hamlin High School in the class of 1946. Naomi attended HardinSimmons University in Abilene, Texas. She married the love of her life, William Henry Pfeiffer, on April 13, 1948, in Sweetwater, Texas. The couple moved to Portland, Texas, where Naomi was active in the local gardening club, holding several club offices over the years. She was a founding member of St. Stephens Lutheran Church in Portland, where she served on the worship committee and as the Sunday School Supervisor. Naomi also served on several civic committees in Portland, including the Parks and Recreation committee.
Naomi moved back to Hamlin in 2008, where she became active in the Stamford Gardening Club, and the Christ Lutheran Church in Stamford. She was a lifetime member of the Texas Gardening Club. In her spare time, Naomi enjoyed spending time with her family, and gardening with her husband, William.
Naomi is preceded in death by her husband, William Henry Pfeiffer her parents, Jess and Naomi Young and her sister, Barbara Lou Hill.
She is survived by two daughters, Elizabeth Butterfield and husband, John, of Hamlin, and Barbara Sayers and husband, Herbert, of Houston four grandchildren, Noah Gary, Shannon Sayers, Bert Sayers, and Denice Burch and three greatgrandchildren, Davis, Katherine, and Thomas Burch.
