Pauline Jones Hodnett
Pauline (Memaw) Jones Hodnett passed away November 2, 2017 just two weeks shy of her 98th birthday. There will be a visitation held on Saturday, November 4, 2017 from 1-2 pm at the Church of Christ in Hamlin. Funeral services will be at the Hamlin Church of Christ on Saturday, November 4th at 3:00 pm with burial to follow at Neinda Cemetery.
Pauline was born November 16, 1919 in Eastland, Texas. She was the daughter of the late P.H. Jones and Della Lou Hallmark. Pauline was a longtime resident of Hamlin. She is the last of four sisters and one brother. Pauline married Wayne Hodnett on April 19, 1947 and they were together for 54 years before his passing in June 2001. Mother and Daddy (Memaw and Dada) worked side by side making a success of their farming business. Pauline had a giving heart. She was a faithful member of the Hamlin Church of Christ for the past 71 years. Memaw loved being with her family and her friends. She treasured her daughter and son, grandchildren, great grandchildren, and her great great grandson. If you were to ever give Memaw a dish of food she wouldn't return your dish without food on it. She could make anything from peach cobbler to a dress to wear on Sunday. She never missed a Dallas Cowboy football game.
She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Kay and Jackie Buske of Stamford, son and daughter-in-law Bill and Toni Hodnett of Hamlin; 5 grandchildren Becky Slapak of Abilene, Paul and Tami Hodnett of Lubbock, Kathy and Ronald Dick of Goldsboro, Brian and Mandy Hodnett of Haskell, and Kelly Buske of Stamford; 10 great grandchildren, Hannah Slapak of Abilene, Josh Buske of San Angelo, Zachary Slapak of Abilene, Jenna Hodnett of Lubbock, Brody Buske of Stamford, Bryson Hodnett of Lubbock, Kason, Hank, Creed and Crew Hodnett all of Haskell; One great great grandson, Cooper Slapak of Abilene; step grandchildren, Bryan and Joni Patterson, Bret, Emily, Jace, Justin and Miriam Smith, Morgan,Austin, Madalynn, and Mackenzie; and several nieces and nephews.
