Peggy Knight Wilson, 99, of Tyler, TX, our beloved mother, was called home to play the piano in the Lord's presence on Sunday, Feb. 4.
Peggy was born on June 11, 1918, in Bartlesville, OK, to Ray and Lava Knight. She studied piano at Bartlesville Conservatory School of Music. After graduating from Hamlin High School, she attended Commercial College in Abilene. Peggy worked for Civil Service in Bremerton, Washington during World War II, and then was employed by Phillips Petroleum Co., Odessa, TX, until her retirement.
Peggy was a member of Marvin United Methodist Church, Tyler. She was a life-time member of Jane Phillips Society and a member of Holt House Inc., Tyler, where she served on the board and played the piano. She was a lover of poetry, music, and most of all, people.
She is preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, Milton (Squab) Wilson. Survivors are a son, Dr. O. Ray Wilson and wife, Melody, of Tyler; two grandchildren, John Mark and Dede Wilson; a great-grandson, John Mark Wilson, Jr., and many nieces and nephews.
Service will be held on Saturday, February 10th at 11:00am at Adams-Foster-Ray Funeral Home Chapel, Hamlin, TX.
If desired, memorials may be made to Heart to Heart Hospice, Tyler, TX.
