Hamlin- Pete Ledesma, Sr. passed way Friday, December 17, 2021, in Rotan. Graveside services will be 11:00 a.m. Monday, December 20, 2021, at Hamlin Memorial Cemetery. Rosary will be 6:00 p.m. Sunday, December 19, 2021, at Adams-Foster-Ray Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in Hamlin Memorial Cemetery, directed by Adams-Foster-Ray Funeral Home.
Born, May 13, 1950, in Hondo, TX, Pete was the son of the late Madaleno V. and Graviela (Salazar) Ledesma. He married the love of his life Josie Romero on June 5, 1968, in Hamlin. In their 53 years together, Pete and Josie loved to go to dances and never left without hearing their songs, “No Nos Vamos a Olvidar” and “Remember When”.
Pete was a lifelong farmer in Jones County since the age of 12 and if he wasn’t farming, he spent his time racing cars.
Pete never met someone that he wouldn’t take the time to develop a relationship with or lend a helping hand. Above all else, Pete was a family man who loved his immediate family and watching his grandchildren grow. His family, along with his wife, were the pride of his life.
Pete is preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, one sister, and six grandchildren, Michael Jr., Ayden, Audrianna, Valentin, Ashlyn, and Sophia Almanza.
Survivors include his wife, Josie Ledesma; children, (PJ) Pete Ledesma Jr (Tina), Felix Ledesma, Steven Ledesma (Kristy), Lucy Barrera (Tony), Angela Almanza (Michael) and Sophia Ramos (Manuel); thirteen grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers: Pete Ledesma III, Steven Ledesma Jr, Ricky Guerra, Michael Jernigan, JR Mendoza, Ringo Amador, Albert Quintanilla and Shane Pritchard.
