Rachel Klein

Rachel Elizabeth Klein (Schwass) of Hamlin passed away June 4, 2022 at the age of 100 years old.

Rachel was born in Hillsdale, Wisconsin on February 2, 1922. She was the daughter of the late Fred and May Fay (Root) Schwass. Rachel met the love of her life, Chris Klein while ice skating. They married on March 27, 1945 in Chicago, Illinois. She was a homemaker, loved to read, crochet, and did beautiful calligraphy. She was a member of the Hamlin Church of Christ. She liked to stay busy and will be missed by many.

Rachel was proceeded in death by her husband, Chris Klein; parents, Fred and May Schwass; one daughter, Ellen Klein; three brothers, Hershel Smalley, Keith Smalley, and Bill Smalley; two sisters, Miriam Peterson, and Esther Floyd.

She is survived by three sons, Chris Klein of Illinois, Jeff Klein of Illinois, and Phil Klein of South Carolina; one daughter, Kathy Cox of Hamlin, Texas; eight grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; and three great-great grandchildren and one on the way.
