Born July 22, 1957, in Weslaco, Texas, Ricardo was the son of Guadalupe and Josefa Navarro Villanueva. He was raised in Hamlin, and graduated from Hamlin High School in 1975. Ricardo moved to Toledo, Ohio, where he spent several years before returning to Hamlin in 1999. On July 27, 2002, he married the love of his life, Lucia Delgado, in Hamlin. Professionally, he was a Jack of all trades, who especially loved working on cars. In his spare time, he enjoyed painting decorative cow skulls. He was a loving, cheerful man, who always tried to help others. Ricardo loved spending time with his family, especially his children and grandchildren. He was a member of the Primera Iglesia Bautista in Hamlin for many years. In 2012, he gave his life to Christ, and found a deep belief in God.
Ricardo is rejoicing in Heaven with his mother, Josefa Villanueva.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Lucy Villanueva, of Hamlin his father, Lupe Villanueva two sons, Ricky Lee Villanueva and wife, Diana, of Blanco, and Jason Villanueva of Toledo, Ohio one daughter, Jessica Villanueva of Hamlin one sister, Maria Rodriguez of Abilene three stepsons, Julian Burciaga of Abilene, Jimmy Ramos of Hamlin, and Manuel Ramos of Hamlin two stepdaughters, Veronica Huerta of Hamlin, and Erica Burciaga of Abilene nineteen grandchildren one greatgrandchild and many beloved nieces, nephews, and beloved friends.
