Born September 23, 1948, in Stamford, Robert was the son of Herman Polk and Alma Buerger Burnham. He married the love of his life, Geneva Ann Phelps, on November 6, 1970, in Hamlin, Texas. Robert worked at the Hobby Lobby in Abilene for 15 years. In his spare time, he enjoyed fishing, CB radios, restoring antique cars sometimes converting them to Hot Rods, and watching The Young and the Restless.
Robert is preceded in death by his parents and grandparents.
Robert is survived by his wife of 43 years, Geneva Polk four sons and daughtersinlaw, Robert Polk, Jr. and wife, Carol, of Abilene, Joe Polk and wife, April, of Abilene, Roy Polk and wife, Jamie, of Abilene and Kevin Clark and wife, Lisa three brothers and a sisterinlaw, Mike Polk and wife, Lisa, James Polk, and Herman Polk sister and brotherinlaw, Patsy Lampe and husband, Cecil motherinlaw, Leta Mae Kendrick eleven grandchildren sistersinlaw and brothersinlaw, Shirley and Bobby Woolf, Linda and James Zampine, and Bennie Kendrick his dog Gretchen and his Hobby Lobby family.
